Kaylee had another great check-up today with her ENT doctor. He indicated that her ears look great. One of her ear tubes has fallen out, and the other tube is laying in her ear canal. It could fall out any day.
She also met with the audiologist for a few tests. It still appears as though hearing loss in the right ear is profound, and the left ear has only mild hearing loss. She recommended that we have her hearing aid for her left ear adjusted. Most likely it is set too high. We are getting a referral for a pediatric audiologist in our area to take care of the hearing aid adjustment.
We also found out that the hospital is acquiring a new machine in the fall that will allow Kaylee to have an ABR while awake. As of now, the test would require her to be sedated. Obviously, we would rather not have her sedated if possible -- I however would welcome sedation for me!! :)
Not only did we get a great report, but Kaylee also had a ton of fun playing on the slide in the waiting room. She played while waiting for the doctor and also after the appointment was over. Before we left she was sliding down head-first. Probably a good thing we were within walking distance of the ER. Here are a few pics of our wait.
So many of you have diligently prayed for Kaylee's ongoing needs and development. Thank you so much. God is doing great works!
